Your telegram of 31st July undoubtedly strong feeling exista among European British subjects in Hong Kong regarding continued presence of enemy subjects in Shameen but there has been little expression given

recently. thereto in the local public press Leader in daily

press of February 6th and Leaderette in Hong Kong

more articles during this year refer to Germans in Chinese territory generally.
